Live gig by Kid Bookie, who blends UK rap, alternative rock and heavy music, at Billy Bootleggers on Weekday Cross.
Kid Bookie plays Billy Bootleggers on Wednesday 2 December, with the night starting at 7pm. He's a South East London artist who's spent more than a decade working across UK rap, alternative rock and heavy music, and the set will be his alone on the bill.
That mix of styles is the whole point of what he does. Rather than sticking to one lane, he's spent the last ten years pulling from rap, alt-rock and heavy music at the same time, and he describes himself as having spent that decade tearing down the walls between them to carve out a sound entirely his own. If you've come to rap from the rap side, the rock and heavy elements will be the new part; if you're coming from the rock side, the rap will be the twist. It's the two meeting in the middle that makes it his.
It's a South East London act coming up to Nottingham for the night, so if you've only ever heard him on record, this is a chance to see how those different sounds translate to a live stage. The bill is straightforward: Kid Bookie, and that's it.
