Work-in-progress stand-up show by Jacob Nussey at Cosy Club, part of the Nottingham Comedy Festival.
Jacob Nussey brings his work-in-progress show Table for one to the Cosy Club on Sunday 1 November, as part of the Nottingham Comedy Festival. It's a matinee slot, so it's one of those gigs that fits into a Sunday afternoon rather than taking up your whole evening.
If you've come across Nussey before, you'll know the deadpan delivery he's built his name on. He works with a flat, nonchalant style, sharp jokes, and anecdotes that usually go wrong. Critics have described it as 'hilariously nonchalant' with 'impeccable deadpan delivery', and they've pointed to the offbeat stories he tells with a kind of resigned indifference. It's a particular kind of comedy that works best when you're in the room with it, and Table for one is a work-in-progress, so you're seeing the material as it's being shaped.
He's been on the circuit for a while now. Chortle named him one to watch in 2023, and he's picked up a few awards along the way: Bury Met Comedian of the Year and West Didsbury Comedy Festival New Act of the Year. He was also a finalist for Leicester Square Theatre Comedian of the Year and won the Gong at Beat the Frog. This show is presented by NCF Comedy as part of the Nottingham Comedy Festival, which runs from Friday 30 October to Sunday 8 November.
