Alpine Ice Bar with ice sculptures and drinks served from ice glasses at Nottingham Winter Wonderland on Old Market Square.
The Ice Bar is back at Old Market Square from Thursday 12 November to Thursday 31 December, part of the wider Nottingham Winter Wonderland. It's an alpine bar carved from ice, and it returns each Christmas with a brand new theme — this year's is still under wraps, so you'll have to see it for yourself to find out. Inside, there are ice sculptures throughout, and the drinks are served in glasses made of ice, which is a nice touch if you're in the mood for something a bit different from your usual festive pint.
It's just one part of the whole Winter Wonderland setup taking over the square. There's the ice rink and the Sky Skate Path — Nottingham's suspended ice trail that carries skaters above the square and the Christmas Market below. The Observation Wheel gives you panoramic views across the city, and the Christmas Market itself is full of gifts, crafts, food and seasonal treats. On the entertainment side, there's a live host, DJs, tribute acts and themed nights, and you might even get the chance to meet Father Christmas.

Entry to the event is free throughout the run, though the individual attractions are ticketed, so you'll pay for the things you actually do rather than for just walking through. The Ice Bar runs from 12 November through to 31 December, but it's closed on Christmas Day, so keep that in mind if you're planning a late-December visit.
