Seasonal Halloween afternoon tea with finger sandwiches, scones and Halloween-inspired mini cakes at Hart's Hotel & Kitchen.
Hart's Hotel & Kitchen is running a Halloween Afternoon Tea from Monday 26 to Saturday 31 October, a single week of themed treats before their usual afternoon tea service returns on Sunday 1 November. It's a limited run, so if you're after it, you'll need to pick a day within that window.
The menu leans on Hambleton Bakery. You'll get finger sandwiches on the bakery's bread, freshly baked fruit scones served with clotted cream and strawberry jam, and a selection of Halloween-inspired mini cakes. Among those are an iced manchet, a coffin brownie, a meringue ghost and haunted mini Bakewells. It's a proper spread, and the cakes are the part that puts the Halloween theme front and centre.
One thing to keep in mind before you book: the venue says it can't offer nut-free, gluten-free or vegan versions of the afternoon tea, so if any of those are a deal-breaker, this one might not work for you. You'll also need to book at least 48 hours in advance, so don't leave it until the day before.
