The hit Broadway and West End musical about the Greek myths of Orpheus and Eurydice, on its first UK and Ireland tour.
Hadestown is coming to the Theatre Royal in Nottingham from Tuesday 30 March to Saturday 10 April 2027, as part of its first ever UK and Ireland tour. It's a musical with music, lyrics and book by Anaïs Mitchell, developed with and directed by Rachel Chavkin, and it arrives here direct from the West End.
The show pulls together two ancient Greek love stories: Orpheus and Eurydice, and King Hades and his wife Persephone. It's a production that's gathered a fair bit of attention along the way, winning eight Tony Awards including Best Musical, the Grammy for Best Musical Theatre Album, and the 2019 Pulitzer Prize for Drama. Over six million people have seen it and nearly a billion have streamed it, so it's not exactly a hidden gem by the time it reaches the Theatre Square.
