A 75-minute multi-sensory workshop with flowing fabrics, glowing colours and tactile play inspired by nature, suitable for children and young people aged 8 and above.
The Magical Forest is a multi-sensory workshop at Nottingham Playhouse on Thursday 29 October, running at 1pm for 75 minutes. It's part of the half-term programme, so it's a daytime session that fits into the school break rather than an evening out.
The workshop is built around a journey into the 'Magical Forest', an enchanted world brought to life through flowing fabrics, glowing colours and soft, tactile sensory play. The whole thing takes its cues from the sights, sounds and feelings of nature, and it's designed to engage and delight all the senses. It's a hands-on session rather than a performance you watch from a seat, so it's one for getting stuck into.
It's specifically aimed at children and young people living with profound and multiple learning disabilities and their families, and it's open to their families too. The session is recommended for ages 8 and above. The 75 minutes are split into two parts: a guided hour to lead the way, followed by 15 minutes of relaxed, free exploration where you can just wander and discover at your own pace.
