Halloween-themed alternative music night with a costume competition, headlined by Leeds post-punk act Gender Envy and Yuppie Supper at The Grove.
Gender Envy are back at The Grove on Friday 30 October, and they're bringing a Halloween theme with them. The venue is calling it their spookiest gig yet, and the bill puts together two acts from different ends of the alternative spectrum: Gender Envy, a Leeds DIY alt-rock post-punk act, and Mood Hoover, an emerging Nottingham queer emo band. It's a night of alternative music built around a costume competition, with prizes for the best entries, so there's a good reason to turn up in something more than your usual night-out gear.
Beyond the music, there's a bit of context worth knowing. The Grove operates an inclusive door policy that explicitly states 'no fascists', and tickets are sold on a not-for-profit basis. If you need a personal assistant ticket, those are available on request.
