Stand-up comedy show by Gareth Mutch, presented by NCF Comedy, at Canalhouse.
Gareth Mutch brings his stand-up show Gareth Mutch Means Well to Canalhouse on Sunday 8 November, presented by NCF Comedy. It's a solo hour from a Scottish comedian and actor who cut his teeth on the Edinburgh circuit and at The Stand Comedy Club, and who once made the semi-finals of the Laughing Horse Competition.
He's coming off a strong run of recognition: he was a 'Best Show' nominee at the 2024/25 Edinburgh ISH Comedy Awards, and the critics have been generous. The British Comedy Guide called him 'naturally adept', Chortle said he's 'as good as any', and others have described him as a 'hotly tipped master of stand-up'.
The show itself is built around good intentions, bad timing and the habit of constantly putting one's foot in it. From there it works its way through class clashes, romantic disasters and the all-too-familiar frustration of trying to do the right thing and rarely succeeding. It's a premise most of us recognise from our own lives, and the set is recommended for ages 16 and over.
