Live gig by Leeds funk and psych band Flat Moon, supported by Nottingham's Luna & The Lime Slices, at Billy Bootleggers.
Flat Moon play Billy Bootleggers on Thursday 12 November, with Nottingham's own Luna & The Lime Slices opening. The night runs from 8:00pm to 11:00pm at 13-15 Weekday Cross, NG1 2GB.
Flat Moon are a six-piece funk, rock and psych band from Leeds. The line-up is a full house: two electric guitars, saxophone, bass, drums, three vocalists and percussion. They describe themselves as "the nation's only microwaveable psych-funk-punk band", and that flexibility shows in their set — they pull from a wide range of sounds and styles rather than sticking to one lane. They put a sense of fun at the front of their recorded music and their live shows, which have a reputation for being active, even when the lyrics touch on social issues. Their more recent material has settled into a defined psychedelic funk style.
Support comes from Luna & The Lime Slices, an alternative rock band from right here in Nottingham. Their sound blends indie rock, shoegaze and metal, held together by dreamy, atmospheric vocals.
