Techno club night celebrating Nottingham techno and the final dance music event Billy Bootleggers will host.
Energy Flash 4 is coming to Billy Bootleggers on Friday 4 December, and it's a bit of a heavy one: it's the last dance music night the venue will ever host. The organisers have billed it as a celebration of all things Nottingham techno, and as the venue's final party of the year, it's the last time you'll find a dance floor here. From next year, Billy Bootleggers will no longer be booking dance music, so this is the final curtain for that side of the place.
The night is built around a powerhouse Notts lineup, fronted by one of the city's true techno veterans. It's a local affair through and through, and the organisers have kept the door tax low in the run-up to Christmas, so it's an easy one to drop into without breaking the bank.
The music runs from 10.30pm right through to 3am, with a new name taking over the decks every hour. Rach (Collide) kicks things off at 10.30, followed by Tom Gibson B2B AllGood (Distill8) at 11.30. Johnnycat (CCIX Presents) takes over at 12.30, then Filthy Dom (Pure Filth, Dagobah) steps in at 1.30, before Mal.Ware (Live Techno) closes it out at 2.30. That's five sets in one night, and since it's a celebration of the local scene, you'll be hearing a good cross-section of the city's techno sound.
