Beginner-friendly glow-in-the-dark badminton session with rave vibes, part of the University of Nottingham's Empower programme for women, trans and non-binary students.
Empower x Raveminton is at the Jubilee Sports Centre on Thursday 22 October, from 5pm to 6pm. It's a one-hour session of glow-in-the-dark badminton, and it's part of the Empower programme — a week of sports, exercise and fun aimed at women, trans and non-binary UoN students.
The format takes a standard badminton game and turns it on its head. They swap the usual bright lights for glow-in-the-dark ones and neon tape, add rave vibes and a playlist, and throw in UV-style glow-in-the-dark shuttlecocks and face paint. It's pitched as beginner-friendly, a safe, inclusive and judgement-free space to try something new, so you don't need to have played before to get involved.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Nottingham and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

It's free entry, and it runs from 5pm to 6pm at Jubilee Sports Centre, Sports Hall 2, 7301 Wollaton Road, Lenton, NG8 1BB, Nottingham.
