Interactive workshop combining martial arts and dance, led by Vanhulle Dance Theatre's artistic directors, for dance artists and their children aged 4 and over.
EMDAN x Vanhulle Dance Theatre are running a workshop at Lakeside Arts on Saturday 14 November, the day before the company's performance of Olive Branch at the same venue. It's a practical, interactive session led by the company's artistic directors, Laura Vanhulle and Oliver Robert Russell, and it's designed for dance artists to bring their children along and move together.
The session blends martial arts and dance, and the two directors describe it as a way for adults and children to move, learn and grow together. You'll work through sequences built to develop strength, improve co-ordination and awaken your inner power. It's a hands-on hour and a half, so come ready to get moving rather than just watching.
Because it's a shared experience, the tickets cover one adult and one child, and it's suitable for children aged four and over. If you're a dancer with a young one at home, it's a chance to get them into the studio with you rather than just talking about what you do.
