Free bike health check and safety advice session for NUH staff at Queens Medical Centre, with C&L Mobile Bicycle Repairs.
Dr Bike returns to the Queens Medical Centre on Monday 7 December, with a free bike health check and safety advice session running from 9 am to 3 pm. You'll find them outside E11 Curie Court, on the QMC site on Derby Road, Nottingham NG7 2UH.
The session is run by the Staff Wellbeing Team, and the bikes are worked on by C&L Mobile Bicycle Repairs. The slots are designed to give enough time for a basic check of a commuter bike and to sort out minor issues — tightening brakes, tuning gears or fixing a puncture — with the aim of helping people keep cycling to work. If your bike has more complex problems, or if you're bringing in family members' bikes, the service can arrange a private home visit instead.
One thing to keep in mind: this one is only for NUH staff, and you'll need to show your staff ID when you drop off your bike. If you're University of Nottingham staff, you can get a similar service through UoN Sustainability.

So, if you're cycling into the QMC and your brakes are starting to feel a bit soft or your gears aren't quite clicking into place, this is a good chance to get it sorted without having to book a proper shop appointment. It runs from 9 am to 3 pm on Monday 7 December, outside E11 Curie Court.
