Halloween day party with a haunted-house theme, RnB, hip hop, house, afro house and Amapiano music, live entertainment, special guests and award-winning cocktails.
The Palais on Lower Parliament Street is hosting a Day of the Dead Halloween day party on Saturday 31 October, starting at 14:00. It's a daytime one, so it kicks off in the afternoon rather than late at night, and it's built around the Day of the Dead theme.
They're pitching it as more than just a club night. The whole thing is set in the darkened depths of a haunted house, described as a place where mourning is swapped for celebration and the living and the dead are reunited in an immersive scare experience. It's less about a dancefloor and more about the atmosphere they're building around it.
The music runs across RnB, Hip Hop, House, Afro House and Amapiano, so it's a broad mix rather than sticking to one sound. There's live entertainment and special guests throughout the day, and they'll be serving award-winning cocktails alongside the music. The decor is meant to be Instagrammable, too, so if you're into the visuals, that's part of the draw.
