18th anniversary concert of 'Cultural Vibrations', celebrating nearly two decades of 'Unity Through Music' with reggae, gospel, soul and pop.
Cultural Vibrations returns to Nottingham Playhouse on Saturday 22 May 2027, starting at 7.00pm. This year's concert marks the 18th anniversary of the series, which has spent nearly two decades bringing communities together through music, culture and genuine connection.
The night is led by Rastarella, Nottingham's leading promoter for global ethnic-majority representation in live entertainment. The theme is 'Unity Through Music', and the music follows that lead: reggae roots and rhythms shared across the generations, alongside gospel, soul and contemporary pop. The idea behind it all is summed up in the phrase 'unity is easy when you look within, not at the skin'.
Four acts share the bill. The Sing It Bold Community Gospel Choir brings the gospel side of things, while Rafeelya, Empire Sound and V Rocket International round out the line-up. Between them they cover the reggae, soul and pop that the night is built on, so it's a broad mix rather than one sound running through the whole evening.
