Informal evening of crafts and conversation for women in their 20s, 30s and young at heart at Beeston Social in Beeston.
Crafts (or not) is back at Beeston Social on Thursday 22 October, from 18:30. It's an informal evening run by the 'Girls Socials Derby & Nottingham 20s-40s' meetup group, aimed at local women in their 20s, 30s and the young at heart who socialise through board games, pub quizzes, walks and hikes, crafts, live music, art, brunches and nights out.
The title is the best bit of context you need: bringing crafts is not mandatory. The organiser, Amy, turns up with her own small cross-stitch project, and anyone else is welcome to bring whatever they're working on or simply enjoy the company of others. If you've got a half-finished knit, a sketchbook, or a pile of embroidery you've been meaning to get to, this is a good place to put it in front of you. If you've got nothing of the sort, you're just as welcome.
Billed as a chance to get together after work, the night leans on food and drinks to settle everyone into a relaxed atmosphere for conversation. It's less of a structured class and more of a low-pressure gathering, where the crafting is a loose focal point rather than the whole point. You can spend the evening working on your own thing, chatting with the people around you, or both.
