Relaxed craft social where guests sit in small groups to knit, crochet, embroider or make jewellery, with craft packs and conversation cards.
Soft Launch Social and Together We Make teamed up for Craft Social at Bustler Nottingham Food Hall on Wednesday 21 October, a craft-focused social evening that sat apart from the usual speed-friending format Meigan Grattan is known for. Instead of moving every five minutes, guests settled at a table in a small group of around four, with each round running for about twenty minutes before the tables were mixed. It was a slower-paced affair, designed to let conversations actually land rather than just skim the surface.
Anyone coming along could bring their own craft—crochet, knitting, colouring, embroidery, jewellery making, whatever you're into—or pick up a craft pack on the night. The options included an autumnal crochet kit, a charm-making kit, and a paint-your-own-mug kit, so you didn't need to arrive with anything already in progress to get involved. Conversation prompt cards were on hand to keep things moving between the stitches, just in case the chat dipped.

Together We Make, who have already staged crafty socials in Oxford, have only recently started bringing their events to Nottingham, and this was one of their early ones in the city. The session was sold out, with the hall filling up for the two-hour window. It ran from 6:30pm to 8:30pm, with doors opening at 6:15pm, and the whole thing held at Bustler Nottingham Food Hall on Freckingham Street, NG1 1DW.
