Keynote and panel session on cross-disciplinary collaboration for future mobility and regeneration in the East Midlands, with a question-time panel.
Collaborative Conversations East Midlands: The Future in Motion comes to the Bonington Gallery at Nottingham Trent University on Wednesday 11 November, from 09:30 to 12:00. It's a morning session that brings together people from planning, transport, architecture, regeneration, construction and infrastructure to talk about how working across those different fields shapes connected communities and future mobility. The whole thing is built around one argument: that cross-disciplinary cooperation is essential to delivering transport solutions that actually work.
The morning starts with a keynote from Rachel Fisher, Chief Executive of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI). From there, it moves into expert presentations and a 'question time' panel that draws on some of the region's most ambitious transport and regeneration projects. You'll hear about the first Local Transport Plan for the East Midlands, the Midlands Metro Alliance, and the Greater Broad Marsh Regeneration Project — three of the big ones currently shaping how we move around the city and the wider region.
Chairing the panel is Professor Sarah Sharples CBE FREng, Vice-President and Dean of Science and Engineering at the University of Manchester. She's joined by Clare Maltby from EMCCA, David Strassburg from Egis, Paul Seddon from Nottingham City Council, and Georgia Collard-Watson from Grimshaw. Between them, they cover the planning, engineering, local government and architectural sides of the conversation, so the discussion pulls from several different professional angles rather than just one.

The session is delivered by the UK's leading built environment professional bodies — the CIOB, ICE, LI, RIBA, RICS and RTPI. Together, their combined membership exceeds 360,000, and the sector they represent is worth more than £100 billion to the UK economy. If you're in one of those fields, the morning counts towards your annual CPD return. It's free for RTPI members and £25 for non-members, running from 09:30 to 12:00 at the Bonington Gallery, Dryden St, Nottingham, NG1 4GG.
