Carnival-inspired evening of tote-bag crafting, drinks, a quiz and dancing at the New Art Exchange.
Cocktails & Crafts is at the New Art Exchange on Friday 23 October, starting at 19:00. It's a Da Vinci Club event, billed as a carnival-inspired evening of creativity, drinks and music, taking its cue from the gallery's hanging exhibition.
The first half of the night is for making: everyone gets a blank tote bag and turns it into a wearable work of art using a mix of paints, textiles and craft materials. There's no experience needed, so you don't have to be an artist to get stuck in. A quiz and some time to network round off the creative session, before the focus shifts from making to dancing.
From 21:00, DJs take over the Exhibition Space and the night turns towards dancing with fellow creatives. It's a two-part evening, then: the making and the socialising first, and the music and dancing second. If you're only in the mood for one half, you can come for the craft and head off early, or stick around for the DJs.
