Alternative comedy cabaret of monologues held at Fisher Gate Point in Nottingham.
Club Wormhole is back with another alternative comedy cabaret at Barley Twist on Friday 6 November, part of the Nottingham Comedy Festival. It's a night of stand-up that sits on the alternative side of the fence, so if you're used to the punchline-every-thirty-seconds style of a standard club night, this is a bit of a departure. The focus is on monologues that lean into the odd, the off-beat, and the unconventional rather than the traditional joke-telling format.
Because it's a cabaret, it's less about a single headliner and more about a bill of different acts taking turns on stage. The 'alternative' tag tells you what to expect: these are the kinds of sets that might wander into the surreal, the observational, or the slightly strange, rather than sticking to a set list of polished routines. It's the sort of night that works best when you're in the mood for something a bit left-of-centre.
It's taking place at Barley Twist in Nottingham, and since it's part of the festival, it's one of several comedy nights running across the city that week. If you're already planning to catch a few different shows, this fits right in with the rest of the line-up.
