Free guided circular walk led by Nottingham City Council's Parks and Open Spaces team through Clifton Grove and Clifton Woods, including the young giant sequoias.
Nottingham City Council's Parks and Open Spaces team are leading a circular walk through Clifton Grove & Woods on Wednesday 23 December, starting from the Clifton Village Nature Trail Car Park. It's a free guided tour that takes in two neighbouring green spaces, and it runs from 10 am to 1 pm, so you're looking at about three hours on your feet.
The route covers both Clifton Grove and Clifton Woods, and the two offer a fair bit of contrast in landscape, character and wildlife. You'll cross a mix of mature woodland, open ground and quieter, less-trodden paths, and along the way you'll come across the young giant sequoia trees, which the team describes as a unique and growing feature of the area. There's also a variety of habitats to see that support the local wildlife.

Because it's a guided walk, it opens up paths that can be tricky to navigate on your own, so you can follow the lead rather than worrying about where you're heading. The terrain is uneven and occasionally muddy, so sturdy footwear is recommended. It's a free entry, starting at the Clifton Village Nature Trail Car Park in Clifton Village, Nottingham NG11 8NH, from 10 am on Wednesday 23 December.
