Free Christmas market with independent traders selling artisan food, jewellery and home accessories at Old Market Square, part of Nottingham's Winter Wonderland.
The Christmas Market returns to Old Market Square from Thursday 12 November to Thursday 24 December, running for six weeks right through the heart of the season. It's one part of Nottingham's wider Winter Wonderland, which takes over the square and builds around the Ice Rink and the Sky Skate Path — that suspended ice trail that carries skaters above the square and the market below. The market itself is billed as one of the best in Europe, a festive family day out with independently chosen traders from across the world. You'll find artisan cheeses, plants, homemade chutneys, mead, jewellery, scents, fashion, retro style, continental food and home accessories.
Around the stalls, the Observation Wheel is back with panoramic views over the city, and the Ice Bar returns with a new 2026 theme and ice sculptures. Themed nights are fronted by a live host, DJs and tribute acts, so there's a bit more to it than just the shopping. For businesses, the site is pitched as a destination for Christmas parties and team nights out, so it works as a group outing as much as a casual wander.
