Stand-up comedy show about the history of road signs in the UK, presented by Club Wormhole as part of the Wormhole Weekend alternative comedy festival.
Cerys Bradley brings On Road Signs to Fisher Gate Point on Saturday 7 November, starting at 15:30. It's a stand-up show about the history of road signs in the UK, and it's presented by Club Wormhole.
That's the whole pitch: a comedy set built around the road signs we drive past every day. It's the kind of specific, odd-ball subject that works best when someone actually takes the time to dig into it, and Bradley's the one doing the digging here. If you've ever looked at a particular sign on your commute and wondered why it's there, or what it's actually trying to tell you, this is the room to be in.
The show is part of Wormhole Weekend, Club Wormhole's weekend of alternative comedy staged as part of the Nottingham Comedy Festival. The organisers bill the whole thing as a weekend full of some of the country's best alternative comedy, performed and attended by some of the loveliest folks in the scene. It's a good way to get a sense of what the alternative circuit looks like in the city, with Bradley's road-sign deep dive as one of the slots.
