Candlelight string quartet concert in which 41 Degrees Quartet plays a programme of Adele's songs at Nottingham Contemporary.
Candlelight: Tribute to Adele comes to Nottingham Contemporary on Friday 20 November, with the 41 Degrees Quartet taking on a set of Adele's songs. It's a tribute, not a performance by Adele herself, so the whole thing is played by a string quartet rather than a full band. The setlist covers a good stretch of her career: Hello, Rumour Has It, Make You Feel My Love, Water Under the Bridge, Oh My God, Someone Like You, Send My Love (To Your New Lover), Chasing Pavements, Skyfall, When We Were Young, Set Fire to the Rain, Easy On Me and Rolling in the Deep.
It's part of the Candlelight series, which brings music to locations around Nottingham that aren't usually used for this, lit by the glow of candles. Nottingham Contemporary is a 300-capacity contemporary art centre and performance venue in the Lace Market, known for its lace-patterned concrete facade and for being built into a sandstone cliff. By day it houses art exhibitions; by night it becomes a cavernous music room.
