Screening of the documentary 'Bunch of Kunst' about Sleaford Mods, with an introduction by Hockley Hustle's Ben Welch, as part of the festival's 20th anniversary.
Broadway Cinema is screening Bunch of Kunst on Tuesday 20 October, a film about the punk duo Sleaford Mods. It starts at 19:45 on Heathcote Street, and the screening is presented by Hockley Hustle, with Ben Welch of the festival introducing the film before it rolls.
Bunch of Kunst (2017, 102 minutes, certificate 18) was directed by Christine Franz and follows the duo's two-year journey from bedroom recording sessions here in Nottingham to chart success. It's a look at how they got from those early days to the point where their fans call them 'the voice of Britain', The Guardian dubbed them 'Britain's angriest band', and Iggy Pop called them 'the world's greatest rock 'n' roll band'.
The screening is part of the 20th anniversary of the Hockley Hustle, Nottingham's grassroots music festival, which runs over a single day in October to raise money for local charities. This year's edition, 'Hockley Hustle at 20', has added several wraparound events around the main day, and this one is in collaboration with Emmanuel House, with 50% of the profits donated to the charity.
