Halloween night session of the social deduction game Blood on the Clocktower at the Black Iris taproom, with the beginner-friendly 'Trouble Brewing' script and fancy dress encouraged.
Blood on the Taps brings Blood on the Clocktower to Black Iris Bottleshop & Taproom on Saturday 31 October, Halloween night. It's a social deduction game — the kind where everyone's lying to each other's faces while trying to figure out who's actually telling the truth — and the whole thing runs from 6:30pm to 9:00pm.
If you've never played, the setup is simple: you're all in a village, and there's a Demon among you. You spend the game hunting it down, and you'll be sipping craft beer while you do. There's no rulebook to slog through, either. Your secret role is printed on a card, and a Storyteller guides the room, so you can just jump straight in. This session uses the Trouble Brewing script, which is the beginner-friendly one, though they've peppered it with some extra spooky Halloween twists for the date. It's pitched as much for newcomers as for seasoned players looking to deceive their friends.

One of the best things about it is that there's no player elimination. Even if you get 'slayed', you stay in the game — ghosts keep chatting and voting, so you're never just sitting on the sidelines watching the rest of the table have all the fun. Solo players are welcome, so you don't need to bring a whole group with you. Fancy dress is strongly encouraged, which fits the Halloween night slot perfectly. The whole session takes about an hour and a half, and tickets are £9.38. You'll find it at Black Iris Bottleshop & Taproom, 27 Shipstone Street, New Basford, NG7 6GJ.
