Weekly over-18s night of 80s and 90s hits spun by resident DJs at Billy Bootleggers.
Billy's Smash Hits is back at Billy Bootleggers on Sunday 1 November, part of the weekly 80s and 90s night that's become a regular fixture of the Nottingham scene. It's a DJ-led night, with resident DJs spinning the biggest hits of those two decades and taking the dancefloor back to the days of Culture Club, Prince, Madonna, Level 42, Oasis, Frankie Goes To Hollywood, TLC, Shania Twain, the Beastie Boys, Phil Collins, Michael Jackson and the Backstreet Boys. That's a wide stretch of ground to cover in one set — from the synth-pop and new romantic sounds of the early 80s through to the Britpop and boyband pop of the late 90s — so it's the kind of night that works as well for a few drinks as it does for staying on the floor.
The night is presented by Billy Bootleggers, the venue formerly known as Percy Picklebackers, at 13-15 Weekday Cross in the city centre. It's a weekly thing, so if you miss this one, there's another the following Sunday. It's strictly for over-18s, and entry is free, which makes it an easy one to drop into without much planning. The music runs from 23:00 until 03:00, so it's a late one that carries on well into the early hours.
