Scottish singer, songwriter and clàrsach player Anna McLuckie plays The Grove at Sneinton Market, with support from Zoe Cure and Lily Clarkson.
Anna McLuckie plays The Grove on Saturday 24 October, with doors opening at 19:00. She's a Scottish singer, songwriter and Clàrsach player, and her writing draws on her classical and traditional musical beginnings alongside a love of popular and more experimental sounds. She describes her music as contemporary folklore, built around layered harmonies, story-led lyricism and free-form structures. It's a good description of what she does: the Clàrsach is the traditional Scottish harp, and that folk root stays present even when the songs wander into more open, less predictable territory.
She's not the only one on the bill. Supporting her are singer-songwriters Zoe Cure and Lily Clarkson, both of whom have stood out on record and live over the last year. With two opening acts before McLuckie takes the stage, it's a full night of songwriting rather than a single set.
The Grove is at Sneinton Market in Nottingham's creative hub, a space that combines cultural programming with social engagement and also doubles as a recording studio. The night is 14+, with under-16s needing to be accompanied by someone 18 or over. Accessible toilets, a step-free entrance and a stage ramp are available if you request them in advance.
