An evening of bold new work and fresh perspectives celebrating new talent from across the region, featuring the headline show 'Lido - A Love Story' and the work-in-progress double bill 'Nothing is Wrong'.
Amplify Seasons: Autumn comes to the Neville Studio at Nottingham Playhouse on Friday 23 October, starting at 6.45pm. It's the autumn instalment of the Playhouse's artist development programme for Midlands creatives, now in its fourth year and with over 1,200 members. The night is billed as an evening of bold new work, fresh perspectives and original voices, with brand-new writing by Midlands creatives.
The headline show is Lido - A Love Story by Lindsey Warnes. It's preceded by a work-in-progress double bill called Nothing is Wrong, which brings together two shorter pieces: Tea for Two by David Gibbons, running for 25 minutes, and Urgent Mandatory Training by Jasmine Ballard, which takes 20. Between the two, that's 45 minutes of new material on the bill before the main show.
Amplify Seasons is the Playhouse's way of supporting artists across the Midlands, and it's open to anyone with a connection to the region, whether they're fresh out of education, early in their career or already making professional work. Membership is free and includes scratch nights, networking, masterclasses, co-working and one-to-one mentoring. There are four Amplify Seasons events a year, giving artists a chance to connect with audiences and industry while their work is at various stages of development. The programme is supported by The Fenton Arts Trust and the Noel Coward Foundation.
