Jazz harpist Amanda Whiting and her quartet play her festive album and Christmas classics at Peggy's Skylight, with two shows.
Amanda Whiting brings her quartet to Peggy's Skylight on Saturday 12 December, with two shows on the one night: 6:45pm and 9:15pm. Both run for 75 minutes without an interval, so you can pick the time that suits you best. Doors open at 6pm for the early one and 8:30pm for the late.
Whiting is a jazz harpist who's earned a fair bit of attention from BBC Radio and Jazz FM, and she's played Ronnie Scott's in London as well as major jazz festivals across Europe. For this date, she's bringing her quartet with her: Dan Smith on sax and flute, Jon Reynolds on drums, and Pete Komor on bass. The set draws from her festive album and her back catalogue, pairing soulful grooves and cascading harp with cinematic arrangements that reimagine Christmas classics alongside her own original music. Critics have called her playing cinematic, lyrical and lissom, and she's often described as a superb homegrown talent.
