Screening of new short documentaries and dramas about British Jewish life, commissioned by the UK Jewish Film Festival, followed by a Q&A at Cinema City.
Cinema City is hosting UKJFF 2026: British-Jewish Life on Film + Q&A on Tuesday 17 November, as part of the UK Jewish Film Festival. The evening brings together a selection of brand-new films about British Jewish life, all commissioned this year by the festival's Film Factory. The whole point of the commission was to show the diversity of the Jewish community, so the line-up pulls from quite a few different corners of it.
What you'll see is a mix of mini-documentaries and short dramas, each telling a Jewish story from across the length and breadth of the UK. Because they're shorts, you get several different perspectives in one sitting rather than one long feature. The session then rounds off with a Q&A, so there's a chance to talk through the films once they've finished.

It's all taking place at Cinema City, the three-screen Picturehouse in the city centre. The cinema is housed inside the 17th-century Suckling House, and the bar and kitchen there have vaulted ceilings, stone arches and antique panelled rooms, so it's a good spot to hang out before or after if you're in the mood for a drink or a bite to eat. The session runs on 17 November, with the films followed by the Q&A.
