Annual Christmas concert of the Norwich Philharmonic Society with the choir and orchestra, featuring festive melodies and carols.
The Norwich Philharmonic Society bring their annual Christmas celebration, The Phil's Family Christmas, to St Andrew's Hall on Tuesday 22 December. It's their yearly festive tradition, and this year it's the Norwich Philharmonic Chorus and Orchestra taking the stage, conducted by Matthew Andrews and Ashley Grote, with special guests joining in.
The night is built around the seasonal melodies most of us know by heart, with carols for the choir and plenty of room for the audience to sing along. It's a singalong evening rather than a formal concert, so you're as much a part of the sound as the people on stage. If you've got a favourite Christmas carol, there's a good chance it'll be in the mix.
On the conducting side, Matthew Andrews and Ashley Grote share the podium, leading both the chorus and the orchestra through the programme. The whole thing is presented by the Norwich Philharmonic, the city's long-running amateur orchestra and chorus, so it's a local production from start to finish. The special guests are listed as part of the line-up, though they're kept under wraps for now.
