A night of folk music and storytelling with Sam Lee, supported by Christina Alden & Alex Patterson, marking Norfolk Wildlife Trust's centenary.
Sam Lee plays St Andrew's Hall on Saturday 21 November, a night of music and storytelling that forms part of the Norfolk Wildlife Trust's centenary celebrations. It's a double bill, with East Anglian duo Christina Alden & Alex Patterson opening.
Lee is an English folk singer, song collector, promoter, radio host and conservationist who first came to prominence with his debut album Ground Of Its Own, which was shortlisted for the Mercury Music Prize. Since then he's released The Fade In Time, Old Wow and songdreaming, the latter named one of MOJO's Top 10 Folk Albums of 2024 and winner of Best European Album at the 2024 Songlines Music Awards. He's also a co-founder of Music Declares Emergency. His work blends ancient melodies with contemporary sounds and storytelling rooted in landscape and the natural world; he was a visual artist before folk song turned singing into a calling.
Support comes from Christina Alden & Alex Patterson, East Anglian multi-instrumentalist songwriters whose music is inspired by local landscapes and wildlife. Their work has been featured on BBC Radio 4 and streamed over a million times.
