Six-piece tribute band plays Fleetwood Mac hits from the Peter Green years to 'Rumours' and 'Tango in the Night'.
The Fleetwood Mac Songbook are playing The Halls in Norwich on Friday 19 March, starting at 7:30pm. They're a six-piece tribute band, and they've been ranked among the 'Top 20 Tribute Artists & Bands in the UK' by the Champions UK plc Entertainment Agency.
What sets them apart from a lot of the tribute acts you'll come across is the ground they cover. Instead of sticking to one era, they pull from more than six decades of the original band's history. That means you'll hear the Rumours years, the 80s Tango in the Night period, and the raw blues of the Peter Green years — three very different versions of Fleetwood Mac in one set. It's a fair bit of ground to cover, and it's a good way to hear the band's whole arc rather than just the most famous bits.
Kelly Scanlon wrote for Far Out Magazine that the experience was 'like capturing a little sprinkling of stardust'. The show runs for around 120 minutes and includes an interval, so there's a break in the middle to stretch your legs and grab a drink before the second half kicks in. It's a full evening's worth of music, and with six people on stage, they've got the numbers to do the arrangements justice.
