Acoustic cover duo of Claire Barker and Paul Hill playing live, with no backing tracks, across rock, pop, jazz and easy listening.
The Claire Barker and Paul Hill Duo are playing The Maids Head in Old Catton on Friday 30 October, from 9:00pm to 11:50pm. It's a free entry night, so you can just turn up and settle in for a long run of live music.
This particular date is billed as a C&P Electric Duo night, which is the electric counterpart to their usual acoustic set. The setup pairs live electric guitar and vocals with carefully crafted backing tracks, designed to recreate the energy and impact of a full band while keeping the spontaneity of a duo. The set leans on guitar-driven classics and rock favourites, with Santana, Pink Floyd, AC/DC, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Prince, Gary Moore and Jimi Hendrix among the names that feature. It's a guitar-heavy list, and the electric format lets them lean into that side of things.
Outside of this electric set, the duo usually plays acoustic covers completely live, with no backing tracks, drawing on a wide mix of genres from rock and pop to jazz and easy listening, all reworked into their own arrangements. Paul Hill also performs as a solo guitarist, fronts his own jazz band and plays in the Claire Barker Band, and the pair are available for hire at weddings, corporate events and parties as relaxed background music. This night, though, is the electric version taking centre stage.
