Rock and metal tribute to Steve McDonald's life as a musician and promoter, headlined by STEVESTOCK with support from Rattus Inheritus.
STEVESTOCK takes place at The Brickmakers on Friday 13 November, from 19:00 to 23:00. It's a rock and metal tribute to Steve McDonald's life as a musician and promoter, and the bill brings together a fair few names from around the city's scene to mark it.
Kaine, Vast Slug, Azure Sky and Gent are the bands listed as part of the night, and Rattus Inheritus will open the evening. Between them, they'll be running through the rock and metal that's defined McDonald's time on both sides of the stage — as a musician and as a promoter. If you've spent any time in the Norwich scene over the years, you'll likely recognise the names and the kind of music they're playing.
The night is held in The B2, which is the grassroots stage at The Brickmakers. It's the part of the venue that books up-and-coming acts from across the country, mostly metal and rock but also pop, punk and folk. The main stage usually stays the home of local covers bands and free entry, though the venue occasionally brings in a better-known act or a tribute band on a ticketed door. In the summer, there's an outside stage for more events, and the regular calendar includes an open mic night with Peter Turrell and a 'Live n Unsigned' night for local talent. This particular show, though, is billed as a tribute to Steve McDonald's life as a musician and promoter.
