Norwich ska and two-tone cover band NR SKA plays The Brickmakers on Sprowston Road with free entry.
NR SKA are playing The Brickmakers on Saturday 7 November, starting at 9pm. They're a six-piece, Norwich-based ska and two-tone cover band, and this is a free entry night.
Their sets lean on the classics of the genre, with The Specials, The Selecter, Bad Manners and Madness among their regular repertoire. If those names ring a bell, you've got a good idea of what to expect: the upbeat, danceable sound of the two-tone era, played by a full band rather than a DJ. It's the kind of set that works just as well for a dance as it does for a night of listening.
Beyond the pub and club circuit, the band also plays private parties, festivals, functions and weddings, and they turn up with their own sound technician, so they're set up to handle the technical side themselves. That means they can focus on the music and the crowd rather than worrying about the gear.
