UK rock band Mister Pink play the Horsford Social Club in Horsford with hits from Green Day, The Beatles, Blink-182, Oasis and more.
Mister Pink are playing a solo show at Horsford Social Club on Sunday 8 November, from 3pm to 6pm. It's a bit of a different slot — a Sunday afternoon rather than a late night — so you'll be out and home well before the working week kicks back in.
As a solo set, it's a broad run through the songs he knows and loves. He's pulling from Green Day, The Beatles, Blink 182, T. Rex, Kings of Leon, Bowie, Stereophonics, Prince and Oasis, among others. It's the kind of set that jumps across a few decades of rock and pop, so you'll hear a bit of 60s and 70s alongside the 90s and 2000s.
If the name sounds familiar, it's because Mister Pink are a UK rock band who've played some of the world's most prestigious venues, events and festivals, and shared stages with some of the biggest names in music. They've appeared live on national radio and TV, including Channel 4 and Channel 5, and have five original albums available on Spotify. Frontman Simon Pink also runs a weekly radio show that pairs music and laughs with top musicians talking about who they've played with and offering tips to up-and-coming rock stars — guests have included Randy Hansen, Philip Sayce, John Verity of Argent, Robin Bibi, Norfolk blues legend Albert Cooper and Stewart Aitken.

The band's own sound draws on 80s and 90s alternative rock, blending influences like The Cure, Pixies, Nirvana, Sonic Youth and Smashing Pumpkins with more modern sounds like Late of the Pier, The Rapture and Hot Chip. This solo show is a different beast from that, though — a run of hits from the artists he's citing rather than the band's own material. It's at Horsford Social Club on Holt Road, Horsford, on Sunday 8 November, from 3pm to 6pm.
