Spanish stand-up Ignacio Lopez builds his show 'Nada' live on stage, drawing on his background and suggestions from the audience.
Ignacio Lopez brings his show Nada to the Norwich Theatre Playhouse on Thursday 22 October. He's a Spanish stand-up who's spent the last few years working across the UK, and this is his latest outing.
Nada is built on a bit of a gamble: Lopez describes it as a show he creates live on stage, right in front of the audience. He's pulling from his upbringing in Mallorca and South Wales, taking suggestions from the crowd, and drawing on everything he's learned performing since 2010. He calls it his most ambitious and pretentious project yet, and the title Nada — Spanish for 'nothing' — fits the idea of building a show from scratch as it goes.
If you haven't come across him before, he's billed as 'Spain's Best Export' and has a fair bit of TV behind him. He's appeared on Live At The Apollo, Have I Got News For You, QI, Richard Osman's House of Games and Comedy Central Live, and has headlined comedy clubs, cruises, and corporate and military shows around the world, with sold-out tour dates across the UK. Nada is the latest chapter in that.
