Stand-up show by German Comedy Ambassador Henning Wehn about climate change, recommended for ages 16 and over.
Henning Wehn is at Norwich Theatre Royal on Thursday 22 October, starting at 7:30pm. He's a German comedian who's spent the last few years becoming a bit of a fixture on British TV and radio, and this is his latest stand-up show. The whole thing runs for about two hours including the interval, and it's recommended for ages 16 and over.
This time around, Wehn is taking an unbiased look at climate change. It's a shift from his previous show, which worked its way through charity, immigration, Brexit and the Covid crisis, so you've got a sense of the kind of ground he likes to cover. He describes himself as an award-deserving German Comedy Ambassador, and that's a good shorthand for what he does: he looks at British life and politics from the outside in, with the sort of dry, slightly detached perspective that only someone not from here can really pull off.
If you haven't come across him yet, you've probably seen him on the panels of Have I Got News For You, Would I Lie To You, House Of Games, Live At The Apollo, Question Time, I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue and The Unbelievable Truth. He's built a decent following across those shows, and the critics have been on his side too: The Times called him 'Wunderbar' and The Guardian 'Cor blimey'. King Charles III is even quoted as saying 'Wehn has given us an understanding of German quirks'.
