Free guided walk led by Norfolk Wildlife Trust ambassador Nick Acheson along the River Wensum to explore its wildlife.
Nick Acheson is leading a guided walk along the River Wensum on Wednesday 28 October, meeting at the Sloughbottom Park BMX Track in Norwich. It's a morning out on the water's edge, running from 10am to 12pm, and it's facilitated by the Norfolk Wildlife Trust.
The walk follows the Wensum, one of Norfolk's most important waterways for wildlife. It's a rare chalk river that flows right through the heart of Norwich, and the session is built around the plants and animals that call it home. Along the way, Acheson will be pointing out the range of species that live here — kingfishers and otters, water voles and dragonflies — and talking about how the river connects different habitats across the landscape. It's a good chance to see what's actually moving through the city's waterways rather than just walking past them.
