True crime stand-up show by Emma Kenny exploring the psychology of couples who commit murder together.
Emma Kenny brings Killer Couples to the Norwich Theatre Playhouse on Sunday 18 October, her first true crime show since the tour of The Serial Killer Next Door.
Kenny frames this one not as just another true crime show, but as an exploration of romance gone horrifically awry. She spends the evening unravelling the psychology of couples who commit the unthinkable, working her way from the infamous Brady and Hindley through to more modern-day equivalents. The core of the show is the question of what drives such couples to cross the line together, and how love can become an accessory to murder. It's a look at the dark side of partnership, where the bond that usually holds people together is the very thing that pulls them into something terrible.
Kenny has built a reputation as one of the UK's foremost crime presenters, and this show continues that work. If you've followed her previous tour, The Serial Killer Next Door, this is the next chapter in that same line of enquiry, shifting the focus from the individual killer to the pair. It's a long one, too: the performance runs for two hours and fifteen minutes, including an interval, so you'll have a bit of a break in the middle of the night.
