Free music night with various acts at The Brickmakers, part of the Black Dog Music Project's work on mental health and neurodiversity.
Black Dog Music is back at The Brickmakers on Wednesday 11 November, starting at 8pm. It's a free music night with various acts on the bill, so you'll get a few different things to listen to across the evening rather than just one band.
Behind the night is The Black Dog Music Project, a non-profit, user-led charity that works with people in and around Norfolk who experience mental health challenges. They help them discover or rediscover a passion for music, and the festival they run aims to open up conversations about mental health and neurodiversity. This night is part of that wider project, so the music comes from a place of people playing for the sake of playing.
The Brickmakers is one of Norwich's most iconic venues, and it's a big part of the city's live scene. It runs three stages: the main stage, which mostly hosts local covers bands and is usually free entry; the B2 venue, a grassroots space for up-and-coming acts across metal, rock, pop, punk and folk; and an outside stage used during the summer. Its programme goes from tribute acts and open mic nights to music quizzes and blues nights, so it's a spot that welcomes a lot of different styles under one roof.
