Free afternoon gig of rock and 90s Britpop covers by local band After Thought Band, with support from Insomnia, at The Brickmakers.
After Thought Band make their debut at The Brickmakers on Sunday 1 November, starting from 3:00pm. It's an afternoon session, so you're in for a day-drinking kind of gig rather than a late one. They're a four-piece of local musicians, and the set is built on classic rock and 90s Britpop covers, so it's the sort of thing that works well for a Sunday afternoon when you're not in the mood for a late night.
There are some familiar names in the line-up, too. The band features members of Super Action Heroes and The Divide, two acts that have their own history around the city, so if you've seen either of those, you'll recognise a few of the faces on stage. They're supported by Insomnia, who'll get things moving before the main set.
For those who haven't spent much time there, The Brickmakers is one of Norwich's most iconic venues, and it's set up with three stages. The main room is where you'll find this one, and it's mostly home to local covers bands, with entry usually free. The B2 room is a grassroots space for up-and-coming acts from across the country, leaning towards metal and rock but also taking in pop, punk and folk. Then there's an outside stage that comes into play during the summer. This gig is in the main room, so it's the more familiar, local side of the venue.
