Weezer play the Utilita Arena Newcastle with special guests Taking Back Sunday, headlining their 'Weezer: The Gathering' tour.
Weezer play the Utilita Arena on Friday 14 May 2027, with Taking Back Sunday as special guests. It's part of their Weezer: The Gathering tour, which they launched in 2026.
If you've never heard of them, they're an American alternative rock band with a long list of songs that have stayed in the public consciousness. 'Buddy Holly' is the one most people know, but there's 'Undone (The SweaterSong)', 'Say It Ain't So', 'El Scorcho', 'Hash Pipe', 'Island In The Sun' and 'Beverly Hills' too. They've sold 10 million albums in the US and more than 35 million records worldwide.
They've kept working throughout the years, not just leaning on the old stuff. In 2016 and 2017 they put out The White Album and Pacific Daydream, and they toured those with sold-out amphitheatre runs alongside Panic! At the Disco in 2016 and Pixies in 2018. Then there was the fan-inspired cover of Toto's 'Africa', which went Platinum. In 2021 they released OK Human and Van Weezer, and this tour follows on from those.

Taking Back Sunday open the night, so there are two bands on the bill. One practical thing to keep in mind: under-14s have to be accompanied by a guardian. Tickets are available through Live Nation and the Utilita Arena.
