The Strokes

The Strokes play Utilita Arena on Sunday 25 October, their first-ever show in Newcastle. They're supported by Fat White Family and Alex Cameron, so there are three acts on the bill rather than just the headliners.

If you've followed them from the start, you'll know they broke out in 2001 with Is This It. Since then, they've built their following on a post-punk-influenced sound and infectious hooks. Frontman Julian Casablancas delivers his signature vocals on favourites like 'Reptilia' and 'Last Nite', backed by edgy guitar riffs, thumping basslines and pounding drum patterns. It's the same core sound they've been known for since those early records.

With Fat White Family and Alex Cameron opening, the night starts well before the main set. Fat White Family bring their own distinct energy to the bill, and Alex Cameron adds another layer to the line-up, so the evening stretches across three different acts rather than just one. It's a full night of music, not just a single band on stage.

Doors open at 18:00, with a curfew of 23:00, so there's plenty of time to get in and settle before the support starts. The show is on Sunday 25 October at Utilita Arena, the first time The Strokes have played Newcastle.
