Professor Brian Cox brings his new world tour, Emergence, to the Utilita Arena on Saturday 17 October. It's his first big show back on the road since Horizons, which he took to nearly half a million people across the globe.
If you've followed his work over the years, you'll know the territory. Cox has fronted a string of landmark science programmes for BBC radio and television over the last 15 years, from the Peabody Award-winning Wonders of the Solar System to the worldwide hit The Planets. Emergence is the next chapter in that, and he describes it as the most ambitious live show he's ever written.
It's not just a lecture. He built it in collaboration with a group of scientists, musicians, filmmakers and graphic artists, and he's bringing cosmology, biology, philosophy and history to the largest and most advanced LED screens available, with the best sound and lights he could find. The show celebrates the intricacies of the Universe while exploring the laws of nature behind them, so it's as much about the big picture as it is about the details.
