Stand-up comedy show Uh Oh by Phil Wang, presented by Avalon UK.
Phil Wang is back at the Tyne Theatre & Opera House on Saturday 14 November, with his new show Uh Oh. It's a stand-up set presented by Avalon UK, and it's built around the wisdom he claims to have gained from being older than ever before. He's marking the occasion with a new moustache and the self-description of the only cool millennial left, whose motto is that nice is out and right is in.
If you've come across him recently, you'll probably recognise him from Taskmaster series seven in 2018, the same year his routine featured in Netflix's Comedy Lineup. That was also the year he released his first full-length special, Philly Philly Wang Wang, on the platform in 2021. He's also written a book, Sidesplitter: How To Be From Two Worlds At Once, published in 2021.
He's been doing this a while. A former president of the Cambridge Footlights, he won the 2010 Chortle Student Comedy Award at the start of his stand-up career and has been a Fringe regular ever since. Critics have called him one of the stand-up greats of his generation, a comic who just gets better and better, and said we're lucky to have him.
