The Sharp bring their Live & Loud tour to King Street Warehouse, recording a live album, with special guests Pocketwatch.
The Sharp are bringing their Live & Loud tour to King Street Warehouse on Saturday 5 December, with special guests Pocketwatch opening the bill. It's a return to the road for the band, and the Newcastle date is part of a run that supports their live album, The Sharp – Live & Loud, which comes out on 1 November.
If you're coming to them from the records, you'll recognise the songs they built their name on: 'Alone Like Me', 'Scratch My Back' and 'Train Of Thought'. They're known for guitar-driven songs and for playing them in packed pubs, clubs and theatres across Australia, and the live album is a record of that particular way of doing things. The band's own take on why they're back out touring is simple: "We've always believed our songs come alive in front of an audience."
That's the whole point of the Live & Loud tour, then — the songs as they sound when they're played out loud rather than just on a record. With Pocketwatch on the bill as well, it's a full night of music. The album itself will be out a month before the show, so you can have it in your head before you hear it from the stage.
