Le Shiv present their debut album 'Yada Yada' live at King Street Warehouse in Newcastle.
Le Shiv bring their national album tour to the King Street Warehouse on Friday 13 November, playing their debut record Yada Yada in full. It's a Sydney-based five-piece, and the tour is billed as their most electric show yet, with all-new production and the album played from start to finish.
Yada Yada landed on 16 October after seven years of work. The band had been playing together for almost seven years without ever making a record, and frontman Pencil says writing and recording it took more than a year on its own. Their sound sits in the guitar-driven indie-rock of the early 2010s, with Pencil drawing a comparison to The Strokes' Angles era — a direction they've honed through several iterations over more than a decade.
Among the songs you'll hear are the single 'Chain My Heart To Plastic', which triple j Music Director Claire Mooney said left her 'obsessed with this band', and the breakthrough 'I Wish I Never Loved You'. They've spent recent months on the road with Ocean Alley, Lime Cordiale and Royel Otis, and they're billed as 'your favourite band's favourite band'.
